A Poem to Sit With
Twenty-ninth Sunday
of Ordinary Time A
October 22, 2017
J. Janda

I have called you by your name,
giving you a title, though you knew me not.
I am the Lord and there is no other,
there is no God besides me.
(First Reading)

Patterns

Again I was running
from you, Lord

when I fell
into
that field
of
clover filled
with
filigree butterflies
and
enamelled bugs
on
apple leaves

blue chicory
and
running rabbits
and
daisies gold
and
white—all in
full
sunlight
