For the Church: that we may give witness to the dying and rising of Christ by our lives and be instruments of hope to all who are experiencing loss and their own limitations

For the gift of a new beginning: that God will transform our fears into hope, selfishness into love, and deaths into new life

For growth as disciples: that like Mary, we may place ourselves at the feet of Jesus to learn and accept the gift of life that Jesus alone offers

For all who must face death each day, particularly emergency personnel and hospital chaplains: that God will strengthen their spirits and help them honor the life of each person they assist

For all who struggle with the death dealing forces of our society: that they may bring the light of Christ to those struggling with the darkness of abortion, abuse, addictions, crime, and disease

For all who are experiencing divorce or the death of a relationship: that God will heal their pain, give them courage to face the issues, and hope for tomorrow

For all the Elect: that God will lead them from the death of sin to newness life through Baptism

For all who are preparing for the sacrament of penance: that God will free them from their sins, heal their wounds, and bring to fullness the conversion of their hearts

For all the people of Bethany and all the Holy Land: that God’s mercy and compassion will inspire their dealings with one another, open new paths of cooperation, and heal the wounds and mistrust in their hearts

For those who are mourning the death of a loved one: that they may know the compassionate presence of Christ in their time of loss

For those with a terminal illness and those on death row: that they may surrender their life into God’s embrace and come to know fullness of life in Jesus

For conversion of heart: that the Spirit will help us recognize the dignity of all human life and help leaders to find alternatives to capital punishment

For leaders of our nation: that God will help them to understand the greatest needs of society and inspire constructive dialogue that will enhance the common good

For all who are suffering for the Gospel, particularly in Middle East: that they may be strengthened by God’s presence and filled with courage and hope

For the gift of peace:  that God will guide and inspire those who are working for peace on the Korean peninsula and make fruitful their dialogue
