When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions

of the law of the Lord,
they returned to Galilee,
to their own town of Nazareth. (Gospel)

The Flight into Egypt

How could
Joseph
who was nurtured

on cedar odors
the
ring of hammers
hitting
iron nails

who felt the
grain
of wood and
the
bite of the
saw
against wood

fashion a journey
which
had neither
the
sound nor feel
of
what he had known
