A Poem To Sit With
Good Friday of the Passion of the Lord
April 6, 2012

Reading I: Isaiah 52:13 – 53:12
Responsorial Psalm: 31:2, 6, 12-13, 15-16, 17, 25
Reading II: Hebrews 4:14-16; 5:7-9
Gospel: John 18:1 – 19:42

"We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God" (Passion according to John).

For the Christ
did
not consider
His
divinity something
to
be clung to

but left His
land
to be our servant

outstretched arms
were
His only posture

as an infant
to His death of a
cross

for such the
Father
desired in the
Spirit
