Lord, help us to come to you as children.

THE GOSPEL
Luke 7:11-17
When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her
and said to her, “Do not weep.”
You said,
“Do not weep.”
Then, moved with pity,
you wept
with
us.
Jesus,
touch us, and wake us from our tears.
Help us be moved with pity
when we hear our
neighbors'
cries.
THE FIRST READING
1 Kings 17:17-24
Elijah called out to the Lord: “O Lord, my God,
let the life breath return to the body of this child.” |
O Lord,
Lord, our God,
we too cry out to you.
Let the life breath of your Spirit
come into our hearts
and revive
them.
Lord, Paul’s soul was fierce.
Through your grace
you called him
to live in you.
In peace.
Please
call us in that way, too.
Give us your love
and your grace.
Let them be
enough
for
us.
