Lord, help us love as you love.

THE GOSPEL
Luke 7:36-8:3 or 7:36-50
Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them,
and anointed them with the ointment.
The
Pharisee said,
“If he were a prophet
he would know this is a sinner.”
Jesus heard his host’s
quiet speech,
and made him listen to her heart speaking
as the woman poured her blessing,
from her alabaster flask,
all over Jesus
feet.
Teacher, help us listen to others
the way you listen to us.
Let us pour your love
on all sorrows
around
us.
THE FIRST READING
2 Samuel 12:7-10, 13
“The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin; you shall not die.” |
David,
was a great man,
and a leader of the people.
But,
at that time,
he lusted, murdered
and connived.
In your time,
Jesus,
leader of the people,
you suffered and forgave.
Let us always imitate
the goodness in
you and in
David.
Jesus,
Wrap our being and doing into your life.
Fold all that we are into your love.
Make all our deeds
holy.
