A Poem To Sit With
13th Sunday of Ordinary Time C
June 30, 2013

On the way they entered a Samaritan village
to prepare for his reception there,
but they would not welcome him
(Gospel)

Dialogue

The custom of scapegoats
has
perdured, Jesus,
how can I live with this

I want to blame

for what I do

I cannot carry
this burden—

“leave all” said Jesus
“then
come, follow me”

but, Jesus,
they
will think I’m
crazy

“I know” said He
