For the Church: that we may spread the hope, joy and vitality of the Good News with great generosity so that all may experience the compassionate mercy of God
For a greater love for the Word of God: that we may find quiet in our lives to allow the Word of God to challenge and prune us so that we may bear abundant fruit
For all who spread the Word of God, for preachers, teachers, parents, and writers: that they may announce God’s loving compassion faithfully and convincingly so that others may encounter the living God
For the courage to share our faith through stories: that we may offer others the joy of coming to know God’s love through sharing the story of our journey with God
For freedom from all that enslaves our hearts, particularly financial cares and anxieties: that we may allow God’s Word to empower us, to deepen our reliance upon God and to free us to live as God’s children
For inspiration and vision: that God will sustain us and guide us through the hardships and difficult decisions that we face along life’s journey
For patience: that God will calm and quiet our hearts so that we may patiently await the right time for all things
For greater respect for the earth: that all may strive to clean up the air, water, and land so that future generations may be blessed by them
For a calming of the restlessness in our hearts: that we may find fulfillment of our deepest longings in the embrace of God
For all who have closed their hearts to God’s Word: that God will break through their barriers and that we may be living signs of the Good News
For all who are suffering from storms, floods and wildfires: that God will preserve them from further harm, give them strength, and guide all who are seeking to assist them
For leaders of government and business: that the seeds of justice will bear fruit in their hearts and ours so that all people can find ways to meet their basic needs
For all who are taking mission trips this summer: that God will guide them safely on their journey, help them to learn from those whom they visit, and to use their gifts fully for those whom they serve
For all who are traveling: that God will watch over them, preserve them from harm and renew them through their visits with loved ones and encounters with nature’s beauty
For all who hunger for life, particularly those who are ill, depressed, or who live in fear of abuse or violence: that God’s gracious love will sustain and protect them
For refugees and immigrants, particularly children: that they may be welcomed as brother and sister in the Lord and offered love and respect
For Peace: that God’s word may bring and end to violence, particularly in Syria, Iraq, and Ukraine, and bring forth a new day of healing and reconciliation |
