An Invitation to Generosity
By nature we fear and we horde. Because
of this, whether we are poor or not, we tend to work out of a sense
of scarcity, fearing always that we don't have enough.
Bread from Heaven
God fed them with manna so that they might know one does not live by bread alone. If God had fed them ordinary
bread, they wouldn’t have learned the lesson.
Paul talks about the salvation of the
world, pointing out that “the world itself will be freed from
its slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the
children of God.”
Jesus mentions “cares of the world and lure of wealth” as rocky ground and thorns that keep the seed from
taking root. What is your “rocky ground”?
