These ideas are designed to be starting points for the prayers of a particular community of faith.

For the Church: that we may welcome all who hunger for meaning and purpose into our assembly where they can be nourished by the Word of God and the Bread of Life

For grace to trust: that we may recognize that nothing can separate us from the Love of God and rely upon God through all the challenges of life

For a spirit of awe and wonder: that we may recognize God’s generosity who abundantly blesses us and fulfills all our needs

For fuller gratitude: that we may appreciate all the gifts which God has given us and freely share them with all who are in need

For all Catechumens and Candidates: that they will take God’s Word to heart and grow in knowledge and intimacy with God

For all who are hungry, facing famine, are undernourished, or struggling with failed crops: that God will ease their suffering and touch the hearts of many to share with them

For all who work in or support food pantries: that their efforts may show the love and compassion of God to hungry children and families

For all who work the fields or bring food to our tables: that God will protect them, renew their strength, and make fruitful their labors

For those who visit and bring nourishment to the sick and homebound: that they may see Christ in all whom they serve and bring God’s love to those whom they visit

For the members of Congress: that God will open a new understanding of the issues that they face and help them to work together to serve those who are most in need

For the sick, particularly those with Covid-19: that God will relieve their pain, restore them to wholeness, and guide all who are caring for them

For all recovering from hurricanes:  that God will give them strength and help them find the resources to repair and rebuild

For all parents and students as the school year approaches: that God will give them wisdom and insight as they review their options and choose the best way to learning this year

For all who are seeking employment: that God will give them courage, open new opportunities for them, guide them to settings where their gifts can be fully utilized

For Peace: that God will transform hearts so that violence may end and dialogue expanded in areas of conflict throughout the world
