A Poem to Sit With
Twentieth Sunday of Ordinary Time
August 18, 2024
J Janda

I use parables when I speak to them
because they look but do not see,
they listen but do not hear or understand.
(Gospel)
Patterns

Drink my blood
wine
and know I
would
die a thousand deaths
for you for
given
unto you is my
promise
sealed in blood

I shall not
leave
you orphans

my Spirit is
given
you—he will
tell
you what to
do and say—for my
Father's will is
that
none be lost
