O
Christ,
give us a glimpse.
Let
us see you
shining like the sun,
Or like tonight's sliver of a moon;
or like wandering geese,
or the morning sky,
or the spider’s
web.
In workers, coffee growers,
crossing guards, and
in all homeless
people.
Let no person or place
ever be hidden from
the glow of your
earthly, Godly
presence.
Let us find your glory
in all things.
THE
FIRST
READING
Genesis 12:1-4a
All the communities of the earth will find blessing in you.
|
It
started
when Abraham
left his father’s house, discarding all that he owned,
and made God's journey on unknown paths.
He let God turn it into a blessing,
which became grace
for all nations
and for
us.
Lord,
fill us too
with blessing
wherever we go—
in all we do, in each
and every person we meet.
THE
SECOND
READING
2 Timothy 1:8b-10
Beloved: Bear your share of the hardship for the Gospel with the strength that comes from God.
|
O Lord,
is it what we do,
or how we pray that saves us?
Yes, if you pour grace into us
from the bosom of
your love
then
we can bear
the Gospel hardships
you use to bring life to the world.
