While he was praying his face changed in appearance
and his clothing became dazzling white.

(Lk 9:28)

Knee-Deep in Lake Chateaugay

1.

Caught in a
moving web

a running net
of light

which did not
catch the

feet or trip
so some

subtle water web
seemed at

work vanishing
without light

2.

Christ touching
through images

so fleeting—
absences

realer than
realities

nightmares—

eyes adjusted
to
darkness

are blinded
by
light

and so close—
some
spit and mud

are required
for
healing
