Prayers for 3rd Sunday of Lent B available here.
For the Church, that we may be a source of living water for all who thirst for meaning and purpose in their lives
For the grace of courage: that our encounters with Christ may strengthen us, free us from fear and embolden us to share our experience of knowing Christ
For a greater openness to the Word of God: that we may carefully listen to the scriptures, ponder them in our heart; and draw life from them
For the grace to seek authentic fulfillment: that we may daily seek Christ who fulfills our deepest longings and never be seduced by superficial satisfactions nor empty pleasures
For a deepening of hope: that the Spirit of God will lead us into a more profound experience of the depth of God‘s love for us and renew our trust in God’s faithfulness as we face our daily challenges
For the courage to recognize and admit our sinfulness: that like the woman at the well, we may honestly face our life and ask for help in changing our direction
For all who are preparing to celebrate the sacrament of penance: that like the woman at the well, we may honestly face our life, seek counsel in changing our direction, and find healing and strength in the sacrament
For all who face prejudice and discrimination: that God will heal their wounds and help them to continue to share their gifts for the good of society
For all who thirst every day, particularly refugees, the victims of violence, natural disasters, and war: that God will lead them to the resources that they need and that our hearts may be more sensitive to the plight of all who are suffering
For all in irregular marriage situations: that they may know God’s love for them and God’s desire to bring them to wholeness
For all the elect: that God will guide them in reflecting upon their life, cleanse their hearts, and deepen their faith and their desire for baptism
For greater recognition of the ministry of women: that we may be open to and encouraging of the ministerial gifts of women who bring the Good News to many who never come to Church
For all who are recovering from natural disasters: that God will give them strength, help them navigate the process for securing the assistance that they need, and give them hope
For all who are ill: that God will relieve their pain, restore their health, and protect the human family from the further spread of the Covid virus.
For successful distribution of the Covid vaccine: that God will guide the distribution of the vaccine in an equitable way, speed the delivery of vaccines to where it is needed, and give strength to all who are administering it
