For the Church: that we may hear God’s call to be salt for the earth, instruments of God’s love, and faithful witnesses to God’s message to our families, co-workers, and communities
For greater openness to the Word of God: that we may allow the Word to penetrate our hearts, call us to life, and motivate us to serve God lovingly
For a greater love for the Word of God: that we may take time to read, ponder and pray with the scriptures so that we may deepen our relationship with God and take on the mind and heart of Christ
For greater authenticity in our lives: that in our ordinary activities and duties, we may manifest the values and virtues of Christian discipleship
For the grace of courage: that the Spirit of God will make us confident in sharing God’s message and that our lives will be an invitation to others to encounter God today
For Christian Unity: that God will heal the wounds and misunderstandings of the past, lead all the baptized to offer a more united witness to the Gospel, and offer greater service to our suffering and vulnerable neighbors
For a spirit of holy detachment: that we may seek first the reign of God and place ourselves, our relationships, and our possessions in the service of God
For all who are ill, particularly for those with the Coronavirus: that God will heal the sick, protect the vulnerable from the virus, strengthen healthcare workers, and make the vaccines effective
For all who are alienated or disconnected from God: that the Spirit will redirect their hearts to the life and wholeness that is found in a relationship with God
For a deeper appreciation of life: that the Spirit of God will guide us in supporting women who have a difficult pregnancy and open ways to address the many issues that make abortion an option
For greater care for the earth and its resources: that God will guide us in being good stewards of the earth and protecting its resources for future generations
For Congress and the new Administration: that God will inspire their understanding of the current issues and guide them in addressing the economic, healthcare, and safety issues of our society
For all who have experienced persecution for their faith: that God will give them the strength to remain faithful and protect them from further harm
For healing of our nation: that God will heal the divisiveness and mistrust that divides us and open a new path of dialogue, cooperation, and advancement of the Common Good
For all who have died: that Christ may welcome them to the eternal banquet of God's reign
