For the Church: that we may embrace the paschal mystery and allow God to bring us through the little deaths of life and raise us up to new and fresh beginnings
For a spiritual renewal: that God will transform our fears into hope, selfishness into love, and deaths into new life
For growth as disciples: that like Mary, we may place ourselves at the feet of Jesus to learn and understand the gift Jesus alone offers
For a growth in Hope: that God will instill in our hearts a trusting reliance that God is always with us and always has more life to offer us
For freedom and new life: that we may hear God’s invitation to come forth from our entombments of fear, woundedness, anger, or abuse and live in the freedom of God’s love
For transformation of our minds and hearts: that the Spirit will reverse our expectations and help us experience hope when possibilities seem exhausted, new beginnings when all seems finished and life when death seems final
For a spirit of compassion: that God’s love will guide us as we walk with all who have experienced loss and wait with them in their pain as they hope for healing and a new beginning
For all who must face death each day, particularly emergency medical personnel and hospital chaplains: that God will strengthen their spirits and help them honor the life of each person they assist
For all who struggle with the death dealing forces of our society: that they may bring the light of Christ to those struggling with the darkness of abortion, abuse, addictions, crime, human trafficking and disease
For all who are experiencing divorce or the death of a relationship: that God will heal their pain, give them courage to face the issues, and hope for tomorrow
For all the Elect: that God will lead them from the death of sin to newness life through Baptism
For all who are preparing for the sacrament of penance: that God will free them from their sins, heal their wounds, and bring to fullness the conversion of their hearts
For all the people of Bethany and all the Holy Land: that God’s mercy and compassion will inspire their dealings with one another and guide the development of their institutions
For those who are mourning the death of a loved one: that they may know the compassionate presence of Christ in their time of loss
For those with a terminal illness and those on death row: that they may surrender their life into God’s embrace and experience God’s abiding presence with them
For all who have died, particularly through violence: that they may hear the voice of Jesus calling them forth to eternal life
