THE GOSPEL
Matthew 6:24-34
Learn from the way the wildflowers grow. They do not work or spin.
Expensive clothes? Juicy food?
Fastest car, giant house?
What should we be
yearning
for?
“See
the lilies.
Consider them.
Do they spin or toil? Yet
Solomon in all his finery was
never clothed like any one of them.”
Lord,
make us lilies.
Help us trust you for
every single thing we need.
THE FIRST READING
Isaiah 49:14-15
Even should she forget, I will never forget you.
Can
a mother
forget her infant?
Can
you,
O God,
forget us
whom you
design in love,
create out of love,
redeem because of love?
Nunca,
jamais,
nimmer,
never.
THE SECOND READING
1 Corinthians 4:1-5Thus should one regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Lord,
teach us to unhand everything.
To be good stewards
of your
mysteries.
In the
“letting go”
please help us
find all good things.
