A Poem to Sit With
Solemnity of the Assumption
of the Blessed Virgin Mary
August 15, 2021
J. Janda

(First Reading)

A mother’s forgiveness
will save the planet

and all of her
children upon it

and all of the damage
done—for compassion is

the structure of

and every prayer

is an angel
touching the heart

of the one to whom
it is sent
