A Poem to Sit With
Solemnity of Our Lord
Jesus Christ The King A
November 26, 2017
J. Janda

'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you drink?
When did we see you a stranger and welcome you,
or naked and clothe you? (Gospel)

The Anointed Ones

Called to disgust

their honors are
accolades of abuse
and ridicule

their acknowledgment
a dime or quarter

their burden
to live Truth
in passing

Truth—hidden and dumb
speechless as marrow

at Baptism
branded by
the Trinity

before they were
born—YHWH pro-
nounced their name
