With
Nativity of the Lord

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice … ,
Let the plains be joyful and all that is in them!
(Responsorial Psalm, Midnight Mass).

Burning Bush
|
|
|
A blaze of scarlet
leaves
cornstalks hollow and
dry
the smell of upturned
earth—
on a blade of
grass
one water drop
flashed
colors suddenly
as sunlight breaks
through
a clouded sky—the
feeling
that in a flash God
saw
all and clothed
himself in it
