For the Church: that we may courageously and faithfully proclaim God’s savings deeds in both our words and actions, and invite others to meet Christ who has done wondrous things for us

For the grace of awareness: that we may recognize how God has named us as God’s own beloved daughters and sons, and that we may faithfully live that identity each day

For a recognition of God’s call in our lives: that we may hear and respond to God who has called us from our mother’s womb to be a light in our world

For all who exercise leadership: that guided by John’s example, they will allow themselves to decrease so that God’s presence and work may increase

For all who are called to prophetic ministry: that they may faithfully transmit God’s word of truth to our slumbering society and always walk in humility as servants of God

For an acceptance of our gifts: that we may recognize the gifts that God has given us and develop them so that we may serve God and others more faithfully

For all who find themselves in desperate situations: that the Spirit of God will fill their hearts and help them realize more deeply that nothing is impossible for God

For all who yearn to be parents: that God will hear their desire and bless them with the gift of life

For all who are pregnant: that God will bless the life they carry and protect that life from all harm

For the members of Congress: that God will guide their development of policies on immigration and the status of those who came to the United States as children

For the protection of all human life: that God will help all to recognize the value and dignity of every human life so that God’s gift may be honored

For the healing of racial divisions: that God may heal the wounds and fears that divide the human family and impede our working together for the common good

For those recovering from violence, illness, addiction or natural disasters: that God will heal them, give them strength of mind and heart, and help them find the assistance that they need

For protection of clean water: that God will help us protect the water we drink from all contamination and pollution

For Peace: that the Spirit of God will guide the dialogue with North Korea and stir the hearts of all leaders to end violence and promote the development of all who live in their nations
