A Poem to Sit With
Feast of the Transfiguration
of the Lord

Gospel: Matthew 17:1-9

“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased;
listen to him.”
When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate
and were very much afraid.
(Gospel).

Illusions

Imagined walls
projected fences

fear-built barriers

my mind created
between you
and me

and now I
act as if they
really are there

forgive me

I knew not
what my mind
was doing

until I listened
to my heart
