A Poem to Sit With
Holy Week
March 28-31, 2024
J. Janda

When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
“It is finished.” And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

(Gospel, Good Friday)

Terminal Ward I

So many there
waiting

their bodies
beyond

control as
vegetable

life or healing
itself—

one when told
cried

then smiled
and
made plans to
be
with her daughter
