Saint Thomas More Parish opened its church doors in South Kansas City in 1966. Today it welcomes around 2,000 parish families. The music ministry consists of a cantoring program, keyboardists utilizing piano and pipe organ, the 40 member Celebration Choir, a small ensemble choir, and children's choir. The parish has strong outreach programs in the community and Guatemala. Social justice issues are stressed and a commitment to education.
